Women who understand and support each other

Founded in 2019, Happiness Habits Inc. has been serving local women who have experienced adverse life events and need support to create their best life.

Happiness Habits Inc. grew from the passion of its founders, Sally Hudson and Penny Newson, for empowering women to create a better life for themselves and their families through the application of the three Es of Education, Engagement and Employment.

During our initial year or so, we were a team of just two, but now we have a strong team of like-minded volunteers to support the growth of the organisation and provide services to greater numbers of women in need. Our talents lie in adult education, teaching our clients positive psychology principles, and simple strategies to apply these techniques, so that each can create their best life.

As part of our offering, we provide FREE mentoring services for women who have experienced adverse life experiences. In addition, we offer:

  1. free empowerment training through community organisations
  2. mental health courses
  3. free mentor training for all our volunteers

From feedback we have found that, following our training courses, participants want ongoing connection with classmates and further opportunities for self-improvement. We not only support our clients with pathways to education, financial literacy and finding purpose in their lives, we also host a social group, Tiger Lilies, to provide ongoing social connection and engagement for these women.

As you can see, we offer support to disadvantaged women through their empowerment journey. We support them to rewrite their story after adverse life situations and reintegrate with their community and employment options. We are seeking support to facilitate our work so that we can continue to provide essential training for our volunteer mentors and provide assistance to disadvantaged women for educational needs.

Our focus enables us to provide customised, actionable goals that draw on robust problem framing, cutting-edge methodologies, deep area knowledge, extensive networks of community care stakeholders, and expert synthesis across scientific, mentoring, and psychological disciplines.

Our mentors have extensive professional and educational training with an additional significant advantage: 100% of Happiness Habits mentors are dedicated to maximising the time spent with clients. We serve clients who are ready to leverage their own experiences to create breakthroughs and move forward in their lives.

Shaping connections has been our sole focus since we were founded. We have worked with many clients and are able to provide invaluable support.

Value engineering is based on a methodology developed by Lawrence Mines, who worked for the General Nizer Company in the USA during the Second World War. Because of the war, there were shortages of materials and certain finished products. However, manufacturing was running at maximum capacity, and ideas were needed to expand production.
